Walker,

Thanks for the photos. Al & I are here racing Prodigys (SOOO much nicer than traveling with all that Formula equipment). We wish you were here competing with us. It's been a long time since the days of racing together in Galveston Bay. I remember those times fondly.

Al's doing a good job, moved up from 3rd place to 2nd place yesterday. I seem stuck at 7th out of 14 Prodigys. I think it's because somebody took a photo of my Prodigy board (# CC7) & posted it for rec.windsurfing. I've gotten 7th place in the last 4 races. I thought by choosing #7 & giving Al #14 that I'd do twice as well. That strategy hasn't worked. Al's stuck between 1st & 4th. (Ha, I'm looking for that mystical meaning in the #'s.) Well, today's another day to try to do better. I'm starting to get dialed into the Prodigy & could keep both feet in the straps on the downwind yesterday. That's progress.

I dropped down and took some aerial

Great Pix.

Did approach control give you any trouble about site-seeing?

They are too! Good job, Walker...this impromptu coverage of the U.S. Open is pretty kewl...great content... The folks who run the U.S. Open website http://www.usopenwindsurfing.com/ and the marketing company associated with it, should elevate their online efforts to match the level of competition that the event deserves. No pics, no video, no official race results...hmmm... pretty funky website. Maybe the content contributors...Hans, Roy, Eric, and Walker can help their marketing effort out by making their content available for use. It would make a nice website or website section just to cherry pick from what the recdotters have provided, plus official day by day race results. Seems like a missed opportunity (outside of the event, itself) to promote Corpus, racing, and windsurfing in general. Is it out there or am I missing it? If it is, why hasn't it's location been posted or advertised. This is the US Windsurfing National Championships, afterall. I wonder if Annie and/or Marc or any of the King of the Cape folks http://www.kingofthecape.com/ have plans for daily online coverage? Verizon is a big sponsor...they could possibly help out with live streaming of the finals.
