Sometimes the surf is up, generally onshore fluffy winds shaded by the waves but you're keen to use your wave board. 5.8 is generally the biggest I'd like to go. I'm trying to decide what would be the gruntiest onshore wave sail in the market at the moment. Anybody tested searches and triple xxx's yet?

I've been on the 5.8m2 '02 Sailworks REVO the last 2 days. One day started out light and then went blistering sideoff with other guys on 4.7m2's and 5.0m2's and yesterday was light side-on weather. The sail performed beautifully at both ends of the range. Particularly beating back to weather which is normally an issue in sideon conditions. The Simmer 5.7m2 Onshore Wave pulls like a tractor on the low end but, gives up some high end. Sailor weight and board volume makes a big difference in onshore conditions...volume is your friend. This is a page that Will V has up for heavyweight sailors: http://www.ispros.com/windsurf/willvwindsurf.html I have him set up on a custom wave board and a 7.0m2 Aerotech Lite Charge wave sail for sailing in these very light onshore conditions.

Ditto the Revo. A wave sail in the high fives is our bread and butter sail on the Florida coast where it's always onshore to one degree or other, it's the one I use and have replaced the most so I have had several, and the Revo is the best for the reasons stated by Wardog, plus you can add durability in shore pound.
