Will be in LA County in mid august, I have seen reference to a Captain Kirks on Cabrillo Beach for rentals. Anyone have any experience with this place??? Any good???

I sail at Cabrillo and see Capt Kirk's van with gear there. The equipment seems to be average rental gear although I expect you could negotiate better. There is sailing in the ocean, small surf and small swell. Most of the guys are using 6.0 sails on an average day. Adjacent to the ocean launch is a harbor where the wind is less, you would sail one meter bigger there, with minimal swell but there is wind chop.
