Man what a summer...unlike any in memory. Day after day of 15 to 25, 18 to 30, 17-28, for days on end. Never like this in August in West Texas. We are all worn out. At 5 o'clock, we hit the water and sail like banshees with as much big sails and smash mouth planing conditions. We are overrun with people on the weekends with our training boards stacked three deep with people waiting their turn. Usually we have good winds until late summer, get a month or two of variable days of light to medium winds and even some calm days...not this year. Maybe 3 or 4 days in the last 30 have been non-planing conditions, and even then we could plane in the gusts. The only down side to this is wear and tear on our bodies and equipment. Saturday and Sundays are 10 am until 7 pm, sail until you drop. Last time I hurt like this was first year in college basketball practice. Oh, we are also in a micro bubble of global cooling. I don't think we have had a summer day yet of 100 degrees and usually we have dozens by now.

Jack, I do not know where we are on our weight loss bet, but I am closing in on victory I think.

SO SHARE SOME OF IT WITH THE REST OF THE COUNTRY, TURKEY!

That, or don't start whining when your part of the world swings to the other side of its pendulum, and you and Hans start seeing the UGLY side of that part of the WSing world.

We're not hurting too badly at this end, but it surely isn't what I'd expect of an average year here. The Baja crew who always spends May-June or so in the eastern Gorge did a LOT of festering this year, as did the weekend corridor warriors until lately.

C'MON, El Nino!

Sounds like you have an unfair advantage CI! Rember, I can't afford to go under 190 with sailing clothes on (Clydesdale minimum), I am pretty much on the edge of that these days, so If I run into a stingy scale at one of the regatta's I might have to excuse myself and go drink a bunch of water before the weigh-in!
