I'm trying to make some pvc 4 line handles for kiteskiing. Where does the harness rope usually get attached? At the bottom of each handle? Any suggestions on how long to make them?

At the bottom of each handle? Any

No, at the top, where the power lines are attached. The power lines should continue 'through' the handles to make the loop. Try about 4 or 5 feet. Adjust as you see fit.

Hi Guys,

depending on what sort and size of kite you are using handles will need to be 350-450mm long. Power lines connected to the top and continuing through the handle to form a loop. Also best if you put a 10-15 degree bend in the handle below the hand grip.

See http://students.uwsp.edu/nhelg094/boarding.htm

The guy in the top photo on the left is using a nice pair of pvc handles. He's wearing a chest harness but you can see where the purple harness line comes out of the handle going to the hook which is located right behind his arm.

Thanks for the tips folks!

Using 5M and 7M foils. I got the handles cut and bent. Now need to figure out some holes and knots for the leaders. Sure wish some other kiteheads were in my area. Forgive the ascii art but might this work? I can't seem to find a decent picture of anybody else's setup.

to loop

Thanks for the pic link. Interesting use of pvc elbow for the powerlines. I thought one normally held handles with the thumbs covering the tops of the pcv. I was thinking of using hockey tape for grip in the winter and bike handles when barehanded. -36C here this morn - only 18 days 'till 'spring'!

I'll e-mail you a picture of a set of my handles. I'll put a link to a picture of a set of handles I made last week. I'll post it in a bit
