Hy guys, on the market there are big watertight bags, suitable to use for island-crossing windsurfing too, but how to set them on the board deck? Any advice? Any experience of putting ring inserts into the epoxy deck?
Thank's. Luca

Hey Luca, I've attached a bag through the back straps of my Equipe (had a change of clothes for a planned restaurant visit on the 'other side' or lunches for picnics at the lake). Depending on your foot strap settings you could run a screw into the unused hole(s) but that still may be awkward. Do you have the small depression in the nose of your board (like that of a Mistral?) that you can pass some downhaul line through? Then you can attach the bag from the nose toward the mast base and gingerly step over it when you tack. Marc

If it's something small like a backpack then you can wear it sort-of like a weight jacket? Just have to waterproof the the stuff you want to carry inside.
Thanks, Phil

Hallo Marc, my board is smaller, I need to set the stuff in front of mast foot
Yes, there is the little hole in the nose but to set firmly the belt to the mast foot is not easy, there's not side stability... the best thing should be to have four of those holes with metallic bar on the front deck, any tested process to insert them firmly on the deck?

Looks like the best is to install 4 inserts (footstraps style ones) with epoxy glue you can find in any surfshop, and tighten a 'handling screw' (I don't know the right english word for that kind of screw with a ring instead of the drive head). Then use any kind of rope or belt, getting throug hthe four 'heads' of the screws to secure the bag on the boards deck.
Good luck!!!

What about towing a bag behind in the water? Some of those water proof kayak bags look pretty sturdy.
Just a thought Wal
