A perfectly humorous anectdote to an otherwise passionate issue. The board and the rider have to spend some time together before a 'relationship' can be defined.

Interesting read, the points make some sense.

...but ya gotta start somewhere, and how many of us are able to try every board/sail/mast that might meet our particular need or style? Mag testing is useful to me, at least as a starting point.

About the only things I value higher than a good mag review is the advice of a dealer or experienced sailor that I know and trust, or the consensus of a (hopefully) unbiased peer group, like rec.windsurfing.

So. where's the problem with mag reviews... is it with manipulative manufacturers or spineless publishers? Or is this article just AW's way of trying for the moral high ground in light of their current policy towards

Okay, I'll check it out. I'm a pretty good searcher, but you've beaten me twice now.

Well... I was saying 'gosh dernit' and 'fudge', so it wasn't full-on (full on is 'dang'.
