Folks,

I'm heading to Jacksonville, FL in mid August for a few days, and was wondering what the windsurfing is like. I plan on bringing my harness, but not my equipment.

Any rental areas in and around Jacksonville, and any favorite spots to check out would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Joe in Kansas

Hi Joe, Jacksonville in August... HOT The sea breeze can kick in as early as 2 but could take till 4 pm or not at all. The daily wind should be light either way. Sail sizes of 7.5 up to 12 meters. on formula style boards works great this time of year. There are a few decent launches along the St. Johns river and a nice Park just off the Ocean...'HUEGENOT' When your here look me up..... All Wet Sports (904) 646-9887 3505 Southside Blvd. We do rent equipment but we are not on the water. Andy

Joe,

I sent you a private response. However, those interested in the Jax area can visit the JAWS website at www.geocities.com/jawsjax for information and points of contact.
