Learning to shape build?

Interested in learning to shape and build boards. Any pointers for the beginner? Any good books/sources of info? Anyone in the bay area build their own boards?

Sample vid clips. These are geared towards a polyester board, which you should practice at before doing an epoxy. Less toxic also. Try http://www.fiberglasssupply.com/, go to product catalog, then books & videos. I got the Maui boardbuilding and repair book, it's very informative. Might be dated shapewise and perhaps otherwise, but I wouldn't know.

Before you start building a whole board, try shaping a small scale model, just to see how time consuming and difficult it already is.
