Does anyone know of a source for custom made footstraps? I wear booties in cold weather and find that brand name footstraps are too short to get into.

Thanks all

Hey John, If you need to make some home-made straps you can used nylon braid reinforced clear hose that's split down the middle. You can set the screw holes to your boot width and (use washers too) but they wont be quickly adjustable. They will still be soft on the tops of your feet. Place them so the outside of the hose is against your foot. By the way, what size boot? I use a ProLimit size 11 winter boot and I get into my DaKine straps easily. Marc

The guy at www.foot-saver.com made an extra-long set for my booty-encased size 15's.

Quite a few years ago, Windance sold longer footstraps intended to be used with board inserts set wider apart; it was supposed to be a safety measure, allowing your feet to twist loose more easily. Who knows, maybe they still have some.

the plastic approach is one I have used on my (longboard) race kit, but you will always have the problem of the screw holes for the footstraps being too close together...... (tosolve this a bit, alter the angle of the straps to open them out a bit (fron hole further bacj than front strap mostly) however this may then not be the ideal angle for your feet.

Manufacturers seem to cater for small feeted, bafefoot sailors (but not all sailor live in Maui.....)
