They make masts for several of the sail manufaturers. I use the Ezzy skinnies personally, which are made by Powerex.

I think about Z-30 (30% carbon) only. It will be use with my girl friend sail - NP Diablo 5,7 '01

I hope that will be good for it.

Thanks all for help. Bye

Hello Martin, You may be strong enough to 'muscle' a 30% carbon mast, but your lady will not. Yes, the cost is much less, but then what does it mean, in terms of cost, to have your lady out there sailing with you. Many would pay any price to see their wife or significant other out on the water, but many of them seem reluctant to buy the 100% carbon mast that would be

the key to having their wife/girlfriend actually begin to like and enjoy windsurfing. Even on a 5.7, the weight difference is very significant. Regards, Roger

Because my gf want to make windsurfing, I'm lucky ) Her main sail is Gaastra Matrix 7,0 to use in low wind. 5,7 will be use only in high wind. In Warsaw wind blowing not strong, (medium is 2-4Bf ) because this sail will be use not very often.

Thanks for help

Sure, there is some difference. But while the carbon content of my personal mast quiver is still rising i don't think it's that big an issue in sub 6.0 sails (*). Even for not so strong persons (i'm a runner type person with not much upper body strength myself). So when economics are a factor (and i think it is for many people, if you look at his adress, you'll note that Martin is from Poland, where average personal income certainly way lower than in the US or here in Germany) i would not think it's unreasonable to use 30% mast in a 5.7 (although i don;t know wether the mast in question is the right one for the sail.). I'd even rather spend the money saved on the mast on a narrow diameter boom (which already saves some of the additional weight).

(*) i note the difference wether i have a 30% or 65% mast in my 5.8. But the sail also works with the lesser one and this is (actually was) a relatively heavy wave mast.

I only have 30% masts for 3.7 through to 7.2 and it'll do for me, can't justify spending more just to save a few hundred grams

In the April 2002 NEWJ, Dana Miller swore by his Nolimitz skinny (one piece) in a NEWJ about a harrowing near miss. If I recall he actually broke it, but the understanding was that nothing was going to save a mast in what he went down in.
