September in Mar Menor

Hi, My partner and I have recently returned from a week on the Mar Menor, where we had a go and windsurfing for the first time. We both had a blast (especially me going out on day 4 in a force 5), and are thinking of returning again towards the end of the season when the kids go home

Does anyone have any generalised opinions on what the wind will be like in September? I know that the water will be warmer (not that it was at all cold).

sep 2001: lot of 3-5 sep 2000: first 2 weeks easy, last 2 weeks windy sep 1999: lot of 3-4, some days with more, some with less wind.

In La Manga you never know, in september usually wind is between force 3-5, but you can have 2 weeks with onlyu force 2-3, or several days with force 6-7

Check www.club-vela.com for a nice surfing place in La Manga! I have been working (and windsurfing) there for several years.

La Manga is perfect for beginners: - warm water - shallow water

The water ahe place at the club-vela site is shallow for a few hundred meters to the south. I have been teaching beginners there for many years, and almost haven't seen a better place to learn windsurfing in Europe. The only disadvantage can be stronger wind in the afternoon sometimes (but not every day).
