SF Bay area last weekend- Ocean Wadell.

What a trip two sailing days in January in a row, of course the weather service got it wrong!

Wadell blew all day Sat and managed a little fun 2 hr session powered on a 5.7 (I am 200 lbs, pre-season!!). Not crowded, only lost a fin, so cheap for a Jan sailing day. Big old seal came onto the beach, luckily whitey wasn't following, too many snacks ay Ano Nuevo!

Ocean beitch! cranked sat and not quite as much on sun, but was fun anyhow.

Maybe I'll jinx it but the season may start very early, roll on Feb!

Anyone else sail, reminds me of 1997, killer year if I remember, one friend told me he sailed 20 days on the coast in Feb.

Edward Glad to hear you got an early start on the season.Lets hope it's a good one. There were a few who sailed Cape Sebastian on the 12th & 13th. I was not around but got down there on the 16th for a short sesh before it died. It turned into a bit of an adventure when my sailing partner went down in the rip as the wind died. He tried everything to get out of it and eventually did kind of paddle tumble and drift out of it. 20 minutes later he made it back to shore. Everyone was concerned but confident that he would make it as he is very experienced. He said he was just starting to think about ditching the rig. That has been it for north wind so far.

Glad he was ok, always tough early season, especially if you get a little out of shape, as your s truly here!

Have never sailed there as it was never windy on my trips through there. Looks like it would be good though.
