Slingshot kite plus board deal. Good deal?

Hi, I was just pitched a package which includes the Slingshot Torque and the HiFly 6.6 ft directional board for $999. I found this deal on the internet at:

Does anyone have any expereince with this kite or board? Is it actually a deal? Are there similiar deals available? Is it appropriate for a learner? What wind range will it be appropriate for once I get past the initial learning stage?

I guess that means you don't have experience with this package

I weigh 180 lb (80 kilos), live in the San Francisco bay area which enjoys lots of wind, but I'm getting into kiting so that eventually I can compliment my windsurfing (which requires at least 15+ knts to get really interesting.

The kite in the package is a Slingshot Torque 8.8 which apparently is 12 meters actual and some smaller number apparent.

I realize this kite might not be perfect for light wind, but I would like something to learn on, and which my 120 lb girlfriend can also use.
