I'm off to St Lucia (Castries)with my non windsurfing other half next month. Wasn't really expecting any windsurfing but the forecasts last few days have been 81F winds 25Knts! Is there any good sailing to be had.

Kevin- I just returned from St. Lucia. The windsurfing is quite good. The forecast sounds like what I experienced with rolling waves and chop. Unfortunately you are going to be on the wrong side of the island. The good windsurfing and rental equipment is in the southwest corner across from the southern airport. It is about an hour drive from Castries which is in the northeast corner. (take the roads down the east coast, not the west coast if you go). Tornado windsurfing has great rentals and Elena is very helpful. (see their web site) Have a good trip, Alan

Kevin- I just returned from st. Luica. The windsurfing was quite good. The forecast reflects the conditions I experienced with rolloing waves and chop. Unfortunately, the windsurfing and equipment rental is on the other side of the island from Castries (which is in the northwest corner of the island). windsurfing is in the southeast across from the southern airport. It is an hour drive from Castries. (make sure to take the eastern road and not the western road). Tornado windsuring provides great rentals and Elena is very helpful as is her website.(www.tornado-surf.com) Have a great trip, Alam

Kevin- I just returned from St. Lucia and the windsurfing was quite good. The forecast reflects the conditions I experienced. A good description of the conditions is on the web site for Tornado windsuring(www.tornado-surf.com) which rovides good rental. Elena, who owns it, is very helpful. Unfortunately Castries is in the nortwest corner of the island and the windsurfing is in the southeast, across the road from the southern airport in vieux Fort. It is an hour drive from Castries. (make sure to take the eastern road which is much more driveable than the western road). Have a great trip- it's a wonderful island.
