Hello! I would like to know, if anyone of you has some experience in surfing the coast of portugal. I want to go there in August and I don“t know whether to go to Peniche or to Lagos. Does anyone know, where I can expect a constant swell?

If you stay in Lagos, you'll get good waves in the west coast and there are some surf camps around. Very beautiful area.

In Peniche there will be waves as well but the place is not so good for a holiday.

Go for Lagos.

For wavesailing go to guincho! Lagos is mainly a flatwater spot, but there are some waves nearby in sagres(west coast).

How about Guincho? I was there for a while in June, and got treated to a few mast-high days and a few more logo days. I think it's the most reliable place around there for wind and waves. Even if the swell is minimal, the wind swell builds up nicely.

There's a campground right up the road, and you're also close to Cascais. If there's no wind, Playa Grande just to the North looked like a sweet surf spot.
