I live near Lake St. Clair. It is the lake before the Detroit River. I was wondering if it was applicable for me to purchase a kitesurfer even though I don't live near a ocean. I also do not plan to travel soon after my purchase either.

As long as there is breeze, you can kitesurf-if there are windsurfers, there should be enough for kitesurfers.
