I've almost got my kiteboard in a position to be built - just got to start laminating - I love building my own things!

so...

what did you use for the core, is it a plywood board, or did you splash out on foam? and what shape are you building?

Hey CoyoteBoy what materials are you using? Foam and glass or one of those easy to make and fairly good performing plywwood boards?

Have you checked out the yahoo boardbuilding group?

There are nearly 500 members now and pretty much all we talk about is kiteboards. Many links, photos and a few thousand old messages with lots of good info.

Hey matey, I was planning on using simply a couple of laminations of ply and glassing that, but the boatbuilding/glass supplies guy talked me into using some foam (I'm yet to be convinced of its specific capabilities but he assures me it will work fine) and cut most of the ply out, then glass it a couple of times instead. I must say its coming out a lot lighter this way but I'll only be sure when its finished

Its going to be a 170 TT with release edges and a stability channel of sorts, it wont be that bouyant, but it'll work out very similar to my brothers Wizzid TT. Its the footstraps that are causing me the most grief, fortunately I've got my mother close at hand with a good machine to sew the lot up nicely

Hey matey, see my reply to Andy's first post for materials, basically a plyfoam combo 170TT with release edges and stability channel. Got most of my build info from the yahoo group but I've sort of gone off on one by myself now - we'll see how it all falls apart I'll keep you posted as to its performance
