Hi everybody,

Windsurfing in the south east of France, small swell but high winds, I'm looking for a new board to replace my old Mistral Eruption (2.57 x 55.5 x 78l). The trouble is I'm a little bit lost among the wide choice of boards nowadays. I think a 70-75 liters wave board type can be Ok (I'm 75kg), but which kind (onshore, sideshore... is there a real difference between them all).

Has anyone tested these kind of boards, such as Naish 'Competition Wave 8'3' and Wave Quest 244-248, or JP Wave 72, or Fanatic Goya 250, and so on ???

Thanks for the help.

I just got an 85ltr Exocet Original Wave: http://www.surfingsports.com/exocet.asp All-around wave board designed by your fellow countryman, Patrice Belbeoch. Take a look at the 75ltr model. Maybe you can demo one? I'll be posting some better pics of the board soon. It is a fast, turny, slashy wave board, very well built (double sandwich...wood and kevlar), killer nose rocker for steep waves, rounded nose, shock absorbers under footstraps, tucked under rails, perfect volume distribution, and thinned out tail... It shined in the U.S. Windsurfing mag tests: 'A surprise standout! Beautifully blends pure wave performance with bump and jump fun. Versatile ride- impressive on all fronts. Well balanced, easy to dial-in and one of the few boards well received among both guest and pro testers'. The Starboard Acid Surf 77 in wood is one of the most gorgeous wave boards on the market. http://www.surfingsports.com/images/eric_girard.jpg I've got my eye on one of those as well...there is an incredible selection of killer wave boards on the market...the best I have ever seen!
