For the beer lover doing a West Coast windsurfing trip this Spring or Summer and wants to combine it with a pub crawl, here is a list of my favorite West Coast microbreweries and pubs with recommended suds strung out along the trail of wind, most serve great food and music as well: (Even if you can't make it to the West Coast but still like beer, spock these out anyways)

Now *here's* a thread worthy of note. The west coast has a combination of geography, wind and brewpubs that rivals anywhere in the world ! Wardog, I feel a kindred spirit calling

There were a few oversights, however...For example, Oregon's Pelican Brew Pub at Cape Kiwanda near Pacific City has an awesome Scots style ale (MacPelican). You can watch the ocean as you sample the ambrosia. Its also close to some great surfing and sailing, or so I'm told

You can find an enlarged list of 'destinations' at http://www.brewpubexplorer.com/links.html. I'd offer some personal recommendations, but that would mean admitting how many I have visited - an embarrassing thought.

Cheers

We'll discuss this topic next time I'm in Portland...be expecting a call around Beer Festival time. Sorry for the omissions...too much good beer, too little time. You are right about Pelican Brew and the MacPelican.

No worse than saying...'Hi, my name is Gary and I am a .........WINDSURFER'...
